Vision

Help people live better.

Fitness isn't a physique or a number on a scale. It's the quality with which you live your life – your energy at 4pm, your back on a Monday, the flight of stairs you take without thinking about it. That is what we are aiming at.

Mission

Give people the knowledge and the guides to get there.

We consult before we prescribe. You get the reasoning as well as the plan – what your body is doing, why it is doing it, and what to change – so the decisions gradually become yours to make.

Goal

Graduate you.

Most of this industry needs you subscribed. We would rather you finished. Every consultation, plan and session is built to transfer capability, so that one day you can run your own training without us.

Our story

I spent over a decade in the gym without really knowing why.

By Sim Jia Hao, Fitness Consultant and co-founder of Fable Active.

I've been going to the gym for over a decade.

For most of that time, I couldn't have told you why. Not really. It was just – where I went. A place I felt comfortable. Something close to a reset button when life got noisy. I wasn't training for a competition. I wasn't chasing a physique. The gym was just mine, and I went.

Then, like most people, life filled up. Work got heavier. Time got shorter. The gym became the thing that kept getting pushed to tomorrow. And when I did go back, I'd pick up where I left off – same movements, same routines, same general sense that I was doing the right thing because I was there and sweating.

But at some point, a question started following me around: What am I actually doing this for?

I didn't have a good answer. I was going out of habit, out of comfort – not because I had any real understanding of what I was building or why it mattered. Progress had stagnated. The routine felt hollow. I was putting in the hours and getting nothing new back.

That's when things started to shift.

My co-founder Rachel – a movement specialist – started showing me a completely different side of training. Approaches I'd never heard of. Methods that didn't look anything like what I'd been doing for ten years. I started experimenting. Over the following months, I tried more variations of training than I had in the entire decade before.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, I ran into a wall I hadn't expected.

I didn't understand my own body. I had been guessing. Consistently, for ten years, I had been guessing.

I was trying things, yes – but mostly based on what felt good in the moment, or what looked interesting, or what the internet said was effective. I wasn't actually working with my body. I didn't know how it moved, where it compensated, what it responded to, or what it needed.

So I tried to find a resource that could help. Something that would bridge the gap between the science and the practical reality of being a person with a full-time job, limited time, and nowhere near full-day energy by the time evening rolled around.

It didn't exist.

What was out there was either dense, academic, and written for people who had already done three years of study – or it was generic, vague, and assumed you had the motivation of someone who does this for a living. Neither accounted for what most of us are actually dealing with: real exhaustion at the end of a real workday, trying to build something that lasts without burning out trying.

So I built it myself.

I started studying my own movement patterns. I found the compensations – the places where my body was overworking to cover for something that wasn't functioning the way it should. I restructured my training around what was actually effective for me, not for the theoretical average gym-goer. I made sessions shorter. More intentional. Designed around what I had at the end of a long day, not what I wished I had.

And I felt better. Not better like "I hit a new PR." Better like – I woke up and my body wasn't a thing I was fighting. I had more energy. I moved more easily. I made choices – at dinner, during the week, in how I spent my time – from a place of confidence instead of guilt or avoidance. Life felt lighter.

That's when I understood what fitness was actually supposed to do. Not produce a performance. Give you the freedom to live your life well.

Fable Active exists because that realisation should not be this hard to arrive at. Because the gap between "too much science" and "not enough substance" is where most people give up – and they shouldn't have to. Because most training content is built for people who aren't exhausted by 7pm, and that's not most people.

Everyone deserves to understand their own body. Everyone deserves a way to train that actually fits their life. Not a modified version of someone else's approach. Theirs.

That's what Fable Active is. And that's what we're here to help you build.

Our philosophy

We want to graduate you.

Most coaching businesses need you to stay subscribed. We don't.

Our goal is to give you skills and understanding that you keep long after we're done – so you can manage your own training, make your own decisions, and live well without needing us. Every session transfers knowledge. Every programme builds your capability. By the time we finish, you shouldn't need to come back.

That's also why we publish the full methodology behind the persona system – what it measures, the research it's built on, and the one thing we refuse to do with it. You shouldn't have to take our word for any of it.

That's not bad for business. That's what we're here for.
